The Eighth Senior Officials Meeting of the Bali Process was held in Adelaide, Australia, on
9 February 2023 at the Adelaide Convention Centre. The event was co-hosted by Ambassador Lucienne Manton, Australian Ambassador for Counter Modern Slavery, People Smuggling and Human Trafficking and Ambassador Tri Tharyat, Indonesian Director-General for Multilateral Cooperation.
The meeting recalled and reaffirmed the principles and direction set out in the 2016 and 2018 Ministerial Declarations, and set out the Adelaide Strategy for Cooperation for final input and discussion ahead of the Eighth Bali Process Ministerial Conference on 10 February 2023.
The meetings included presentations and updates from Member States and Member Organisations, Bali Process Working Groups, and the Regional Support Office (RSO). Members discussed the draft Strategy for Cooperation and shared final suggestions ahead of its adoption at the Bali Process Ministerial Conference. The RSO also presented an update on the refresh of the Bali Process website, ahead of its launch in April 2023.
