The 18th Steering Group Senior Officials’ Meeting, co-chaired by Australia and Indonesia, focused on final preparations for key upcoming Bali Process events, including the Senior Officials Meeting, Ministerial Conference, and Government and Business Forum. Participants reviewed agendas and expected outcomes for each event.
The meeting reaffirmed the principles outlined in the 2016 and 2018 Ministerial Declarations and finalized the Adelaide Strategy for Cooperation ahead of the Eighth Bali Process Ministerial Conference. Officials also discussed regional and global developments impacting stability and irregular migration, including the ongoing effects of COVID-19, conflict, cyber-enabled human trafficking, and climate-related disasters.
